About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team in Rotherham. This is a flexible position ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and making a positive impact on their early development.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the Nursery Practitioners in providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children with their learning, development, and daily routines.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of age‑appropriate activities.
- Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Assisting with meals, snacks, and personal care routines where required.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Following nursery policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and days as required.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare practices.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to undertake a new DBS check.
