What youll be doing

• Create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Design and develop new products and improve existing designs for performance, cost and manufacturability.
• Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and efficient to produce.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical queries and design changes.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, quality requirements and health & safety procedures.

What were looking for

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer / SolidWorks Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings, 3D).
• Creative ability
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, wide range of materials, understanding of machining, fabrication and assembly.
• Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Desirable: Experience with PDM systems, design for manufacture (DFM).
