A bit about the role

The Junior Creative is an entry-level role focused on supporting the Studio 59 creative team in the development and execution of ideas across all National Lottery channels.

Reporting to a Senior Creative, you will bring a “hybrid” mindset—meaningyou’rejust as comfortable brainstorming a big campaign hook as you are resizing an asset or drafting social copy. This role is about learning the ropes of a fast-paced in-house agency, honing your craft, and ensuring every piece of work, no matter how small, is delivered with enthusiasm and precision.

This role is designed for a high-potential individual who is eager to soak up knowledge, support the senior team onbig ideas, and take ownership of smaller, fast-turnaround tasks.

What you’ll be doing

Creative Support & Execution

  • Idea Generation:Participatein brainstorms and “sprints,” contributing fresh perspectives and diverse ideas for campaigns and always-on content.
  • Hybrid Asset Creation:Assistin producing a wide range of creative assets, from social media stories and static banners to basic motion graphics or copy tweaks.
  • Brief Execution: Take simple briefs and translate them into clean, on-brand creative outputs under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Mentorship: Work closely with the Senior Creative to understand how to interpret feedback and refine your work to meet high industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Shadow the Production and Delivery teams to learn how creative work moves through a professional studio ecosystem.
  • Asset Management:Assistin prepping files for delivery, ensuring everything is named correctly and follows the studio’s technical specs.

BrandStewardship

  • Brand Immersion: Learn The National Lottery brand guidelines inside-out, ensuring every piece of work is “on-brand” in both look and tone.
  • Consistency:Maintaina high levelof attention to detail, checking for typos, alignment issues, or brand inconsistencies before work is shared.

Delivery & Growth

  • Pace & Agility:Support the studio’s reactive “fast-turnaround” needs, helping the team respond to real-time cultural moments or winners’ stories.
  • Self-Development:Proactively seek out new tools, AI innovations, and creative trends to bring back to the wider team

What experiencewe’relooking for

Key Skills & Experience

  • The “Hybrid” Skillset: A foundational knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and an interest in writing or basic motion.
  • Portfolio: A showreel or portfolio (can include student/personal work) thatdemonstratescreative potential and a “knack” for visual storytelling.
  • Curiosity: A deep interest in UK culture, social media trends, and what makes people click, share, orparticipate.
  • Resilience: A positive attitude toward feedback; you see “v1, v2, and v3” as opportunities to learn, not failures.
  • Communication: Ability to explain your ideas clearly and listen intently to creative direction.
  • Qualification: A degree in a creative field or equivalent experience/internships within a creative environment is preferred but not essential.

Key Measures of Success

  • Growth Trajectory: Demonstrable improvement in craft (design/copy/concepting) over the first six months.
  • Dependability: Consistently meeting internal deadlines and following studio workflows.
  • Proactivity: Actively contributing to creative sessions and volunteering for tasks to support the wider team.
  • Brand Accuracy: Minimal “corrections” needed on brand-specific elements like logos,colors, and tone
