Key Responsibilities

As a Trainee Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Maintaining bookkeeping records, payroll, and VAT returns.
  • Preparing statutory financial statements from source data and trial balances.
  • Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Preparing tax calculations and tax returns.
  • Managing electronic financial records and documentation.
  • Responding to financial queries from clients and internal teams.
  • Supporting senior accountants and managers with client assignments.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities.

  • Confidence when communicating with clients and colleagues.

Desirable Skills

The following experience would be beneficial but is not essential:

  • Previous experience in an accounting practice.
