Your new role

n This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor through to approximately 5 years' PQE to join an established asbestos and occupational disease team.

n

You will manage your own caseload of litigated industrial disease matters whilst supporting senior lawyers on complex and high-value claims. The team acts for individuals suffering from a broad range of occupational illnesses and respiratory conditions, providing meaningful and rewarding work that makes a genuine difference to clients and their families.

Your responsibilities:

n

    n

  • Managing a caseload of asbestos and occupational disease claims from inception through to resolution.
  • n

  • Handling a range of cases including mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural thickening, occupational asthma, silicosis and other workplace-related illnesses.
  • n

  • Running litigated matters independently with appropriate supervision.
  • n

  • Assisting partners and senior solicitors on complex and high-value claims.
  • n

  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and schedules of loss.
  • n

  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel and other key stakeholders.
  • n

  • Conducting legal research and preparing detailed advice.
  • n

  • Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships.
  • n

  • Contributing to business development and networking activities.
  • n

What you'll need to succeedn  

n

    n

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 0 to 5 years' PQE.
  • n

  • Previous experience in industrial disease, asbestos litigation or claimant personal injury.
  • n

  • Ability to manage litigated cases with increasing levels of autonomy.
  • n

  • Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills.
  • n

  • Excellent communication and client care abilities.
  • n

  • A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients and their families.
  • n

  • Enthusiasm for industrial disease work and a genuine commitment to securing the best outcomes for clients.
  • n

  • A proactive and commercially aware mindset with an interest in business development.
  • n
