At Maggs, we believe everyone deserves somewhere safe to call home.We’re looking for a compassionate, organised and proactive Worcester Day Centre Co-ordinator to lead the day-to-day running of our Worcester Day Centre. This role is all about ensuring our services run safely and effectively, supporting both staff and volunteers, and helping people experiencing homelessness access the support they need to move towards greater stability and independence.

About the role

No two days are ever the same. You’ll oversee the daily operation of our Worcester Day Centre, supporting staff, coordinating volunteers and ensuring people experiencing homelessness receive compassionate, person-centred support in a safe and welcoming environment.

As our Worcester Day Centre Co-ordinator, you’ll:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of Worcester Day Centre, ensuring staff, volunteers and resources are effectively organised.
  • Provide guidance, supervision and coaching to Homeless Support Workers.
  • Lead day centre sessions, daily briefings and handovers.
  • Hold a caseload of service users, supporting them to achieve their goals and sustain accommodation.
  • Work closely with councils, health services, housing providers and partner organisations to coordinate support.
  • Support people to access healthcare, mental health support, substance misuse services, benefits, volunteering, training and employment opportunities.
  • Organise and facilitate group activities that promote wellbeing, confidence and independence.
  • Maintain accurate case records, support plans and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, service development, reporting and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness or multiple disadvantage.
  • Experience supervising staff, leading shifts or deputising for a manager.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate a busy frontline service.
  • Experience working with people with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse or other multiple disadvantages.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, confident approach when responding to challenging or crisis situations.
  • A compassionate, person-centred and non-judgemental approach.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries.
  • Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills.
  • A full, clean driving licence with business use insurance.

We’d also love if you have:

  • Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Housing or a related field.
  • Qualifications or training in leadership or supervision.
  • Knowledge of homelessness services across Worcestershire.
  • Experience of trauma-informed practice or harm reduction.
  • First Aid or Mental Health First Aid training.
  • Experience working alongside statutory and voluntary sector partners.
