Job Summary

We are seeking an effective Deputy Logistics Manager for our pharmaceutical logistics operation within UHB. This pivotal role ensures the timely and efficient delivery of products, manages logistics performance and build strong relationships with various stakeholders across the trust, contributing Directly to operational excellence.

Responsible for a team of up to 12, the post holder will effectively manage staff to ensure a high level of service is provided to a multitude of sites, as well as developing and coaching team members to ensure accuracy, timeliness and high standards are achieved throughout the site.

The role is mainly based at Kings Norton Business Centre, however an element of flexibility with regards to site is expected.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

To manage and co-ordinate operational management of the logistics staff.

To ensure that materials, equipment etc. are delivered to end users in an efficient and appropriate manner.

To ensure security of the building in hours and to respond to out of hours issues as and when agreed deputising for the Logistics Manager. The post holder will also be required to deputise for the Logistics Warehouse Manager during periods of annual leave and/or sickness.

To work autonomously to provide prioritised, timely and efficient service to all stakeholders.

To ensure that all warehouse staff are aware of HR Procedures, that all staff comply with relevant legislation, especially with regards to GDP, Health and Safety, Fire precautions and stock security.

Working closely with the Logistics Warehouse Manager to provide regular and measurable updates to ensure continuity of delivery of service.

To ensure all mandatory and departmental training requirements, SOP’s, Appraisals, inductions and risk assessments are undertaken by all staff ensuring compliance to both Trust and Departmental policies.

To ensure that all operating equipment is checked daily..

To manage and maintain the Trust’s Time and Attendance system on a daily basis for all warehouse staff, referring any payroll discrepancies to the Logistics Warehouse Manager and/or payroll department if necessary and undertake return to work interviews where appropriate.

Job Description

To carry out all HR processes for all warehouse staff including absence review meetings and Stage 1 & Stage 2 meetings, ensuring personal records are maintained.

To analyse and resolve complex issues in an efficient and professional manner, using persuasive skills and logic to initiate and pro-actively negotiate changes to scheduled workloads.

Qualifications

  • Good Standard of General Education to GCSE or equivalent level
  • NVQ Level 4 or relevant equivalent experience

Desirable

  • HND qualification and/or relevant experience

Degree Level Or Equivalent Qualifications

  • Counterbalance and/or Reach truck licensed
