The Role
Manpower is recruiting a Cook to join a busy public?sector catering retail unit in Heath, Cardiff. You will prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes, including regenerating pre-prepared meals and producing fresh homemade-style meals such as curries and lasagnes. The role requires maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service while working as part of a wider catering team.
Main Responsibilities
- Preparing fresh meals including curries, lasagnes, and other homemade-style dishes
- Cooking and regenerating menu items such as pizzas and chicken goujons
- Supporting daily kitchen operations in the main restaurant and canteen
- Maintaining food quality and ensuring meals are served within agreed timescales
- Following food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
- Managing stock rotation and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Delivering excellent customer service to staff and visitors
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Experience preparing fresh, homemade meals
- Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work evening and weekend shifts
