Join a Leading Family Law Team

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Bristol seeking a Family Childcare Solicitor to join its growing Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is passionate about representing children, parents and other family members in public law proceedings while developing their career within a supportive and collaborative team.

You’ll manage your own caseload while working alongside experienced practitioners on complex and rewarding matters.

The Role

You will advise and represent clients on a broad range of public family law matters, including:

  • Care proceedings
  • Child protection matters
  • Emergency applications
  • Special Guardianship Orders
  • Adoption matters
  • Child arrangements where linked to public law proceedings
  • Advocacy where appropriate
  • Working closely with local authorities, Children’s Guardians and other professionals

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Family Childcare/Public Law matters
  • Experience managing a childcare caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Strong knowledge of Children Act proceedings and relevant legislation
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet court deadlines
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach when supporting vulnerable clients
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
