Clinic Supervisor (Dermatology Clinic)
Location: St Michaels House, St. Michaels Street, Shrewsbury, SY1 2HE
Contract: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week
Pay: £33,600 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Role Overview
As a Clinic Supervisor you will support the Practice Manager to drive and improve the operational performance across the Dermatology service, ensuring customers receive the highest standards of service and satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Drive and manage operational efficiencies across the service through effective utilisation and efficient scheduling of resources, striving for profitable growth and putting the customer at the centre of everything.
- Support the collection and interpretation of management information and data using clinical team expertise.
- Analyse failure demand, customer satisfaction results, complaints and immediate feedback.
- Identify root causes and implement timely remedial actions.
- Ensure the team complies with internal and external standards, passing First Line Audits and ISO compliance audits.
- Understand service finances to help the Practice Manager respond quickly to external environmental changes affecting profitability.
- Measure financial performance and understand variations.
- Own capacity management, proposing innovative solutions to maximise capacity and increase revenue opportunities.
- Track all costs, aiming to continuously reduce operating costs.
- Ensure end‑of‑day financial checks are managed efficiently and follow Dermatology Partnerships processes.
- Order all consumables in support of and under the direction of the Lead Nurse.
- Approve first‑stage clinic-related invoices and establish robust procedures for charging bloods and histology, approving corresponding supplier invoices.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience working in NHS or a hospital setting.
- Familiarity with EMIS system (training provided).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and drive the team.
- Ability to build rapport with consultants.
- KPI driven mindset.
- Data analysis skills and ability to create reports.
- Dermatology experience (desirable).
- Capability to work in a highly pressurised environment and cope with frequent change.
