A leading global freight forwarder in Manchester is hiring an Ocean Imports Operator to manage high-volume deep-sea import consignments from origin booking straight through to UK delivery. What You’ll Do:

• Run the Desk: Take complete ownership of ocean import files (FCL & LCL) across international trade lanes.
• Master Compliance: Prepare and process crucial customs entries, import documentation, and Bills of Lading in line with regulations.
• Coordinate Supply Chains: Work alongside ocean carriers, overseas agents, and domestic hauliers to secure rates and optimize transit times.
• Manage Key Accounts: Act as the primary advisor for client accounts, delivering real-time milestone updates and resolving route bottlenecks.
• Protect File Profitability: Oversee job costing, approve supplier charges, and handle accurate client invoicing.

What You’ll Need:

• Proven background in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Solid understanding of deep-sea import documentation, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
• Experience using freight platforms like CargoWise One or similar systems.
• Sharp problem-solving ability and strong attention to detail under tight timelines.
