Senior Estimator – Manchester / Carlisle
Location: Manchester / Carlisle & Site Visits
Reports to: Commercial Director
Are you an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator ready to take the lead on high-quality tenders and play a key role in a growing business?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative commercial team, taking ownership of the full tender lifecycle while helping to secure profitable, strategically aligned projects.
As a business, they have built a strong reputation across the market, evidenced by repeat work with key clients and a consistent pipeline of secured projects across commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, hotel & leisure and residential sectors. They are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction function as part of their continued growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the preparation of accurate, competitive tenders
- Managing bids from enquiry through to submission and handover
- Producing detailed take-offs, pricing and risk assessments
- Maintaining a clear and organised pipeline of opportunities
- Building strong relationships with contractors and clients
- Supporting project teams with structured handovers
- Mentoring junior estimators and driving best practice
What we’re looking for:
- Strong estimating experience in painting & decorating, internal finishing, fit-out, specialist coatings or a related construction trade
- Solid understanding of drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities
- Ability to manage multiple tenders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with estimating software, CRM systems and Excel
