Motor Pricing Manager | Personal Lines | London or Manchester (Hybrid)
North Co Recruitment are working with a leading UK retail insurer to appoint a Motor Pricing Manager into their direct pricing function. The team is mid-transformation, investing heavily in headcount, analytical toolset and technology, and this is a people-leadership hire with real scope to shape how the function evolves, not inherit one that’s already set.
What you’ll do
- Lead a team of pricing analysts, owning their development, workload and delivery.
- Own price optimisation for new business and renewal pricing across a major motor book.
- Drive impact analysis and scenario modelling to understand customer response to price change, shaping strategy rather than reporting on it.
- Challenge pricing proposals and risk model updates to maintain rigour across the approval process.
- Shape pricing decisions through direct analysis of competitor activity and market movement.
- Champion fair value and customer-centric pricing, balancing commercial targets against the impact on existing customers.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in a general insurance pricing role, ideally within personal lines motor.
- A degree in mathematics, computer science or a related discipline (2:1 or above), or equivalent demonstrable proficiency.
- Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a team of analysts.
- Solid grounding in predictive modelling for risk and/or demand, with the ability to translate this into commercial recommendations.
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment and the dynamics of large organisations.
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions beyond your immediate team.
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL and Databricks; experience with geographic analysis tools is desirable.
- Hybrid working applies, with a mix of home and office-based collaboration.
If you’re looking for a Motor Pricing Manager role with genuine ownership of a live transformation programme, a team to build and develop, and real investment in your tools and capability, we’d be keen to speak.
Salary: £75,000 – £94,000 base, plus discretionary bonus
