Development Manager
West Scotland (with regular travel across Scotland and England)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join a well-established property business with a diverse portfolio of land and property assets.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a range of development and diversification projects, helping to identify, assess and deliver commercial opportunities that enhance the long-term value of the estate portfolio. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll manage projects from concept through to completion while providing expert planning advice and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and deliver development opportunities across commercial, industrial, residential, tourism and renewable energy projects.
- Manage projects through appraisal, planning, procurement and delivery.
- Prepare development appraisals, business cases and financial assessments.
- Lead planning applications and engage with planning authorities and external consultants.
- Promote land through the planning system, including greenfield and brownfield opportunities.
- Build and manage relationships with developers, consultants, funders and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets, programmes and progress, reporting to senior management.
About You
- A degree in Town Planning, Rural Planning, Land Management or a related discipline.
- MRTPI, MRICS or equivalent professional membership.
- Experience in rural planning, development and project management.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development appraisal.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
