Aboutthe Role

Wehave a casual Healthcare Assistant position available at Darfield CommunityHospital. As a casual position, there are no guaranteed hours or days; you willbe covering sick (on call) and annual leave. Shifts are across Monday – Sunday;mornings, afternoons and nights.

Inthis role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Registered Nurse
  • Assisting in the kitchen to prepare meals
  • Assisting the patients with personal cares, activities
  • Helping to maintain a high standard of cleaning in the hospital.

Aboutthe Service

Darfield Community Hospital has 11 beds for providing palliative care, transition tohome and respite care of the elderly for our local community.Weare a friendly small team in a rural hospital setting, comprising RegisteredNurses, Healthcare Assistants, a Gardener/ Maintenance person, allied healthinvolvement, Older Persons Health and Palliative care support.

AboutYou

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well with others
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Have an empathetic and caring nature
  • Good time management skills
  • Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar
  • Previous food preparation experience is desirable.
