The National Heart Clinic is an independent cardiology clinic providing consultant led care at Harley Street and Richmond. We support patients with timely cardiovascular assessment and a professional, patient centered experience delivered by an experienced clinical team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support our cardiac physiologists, consultants, and administrative teams. This role combines clinical assistance, patient care, administrative duties, and operational support.
You will play a key role in ensuring smooth patient journeys, safe clinical environments, and efficient diagnostic workflows.
ROLE DETAILS
- Salary: £24,000 to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Hours: 39 hours per week, full time or part time
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with flexibility for Saturdays as the service develops
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Assist cardiac physiologists during Exercise Tolerance Tests (ETTs) and Exercise Stress Echocardiograms (ESEs), including patient preparation, monitoring, and safety support
- Fit Holter monitors (24 hours to 14 days) and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors if trained and deemed competent
- Support physiologists with patient preparation for ECGs, ETTs, and other cardiac investigations
- Conduct virtual or telephone consultations to help patients self fit postal monitors
- Provide calm, reassuring, patient centered care to individuals who may be anxious or clinically unwell
- Take in clinic payments when required
ABOUT YOU
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, Care Certificate, or equivalent healthcare qualifications
- Previous experience working as a healthcare assistant within a hospital, outpatient GP, or private healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient centered approach
- Ability to work independently whilst recognizing own limitations and seeking support when appropriate
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and electronic patient record systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Additional qualifications in phlebotomy, ECG recording, or healthcare support
- Experience working within a cardiology or cardiac diagnostic service
- Experience providing telephone or virtual patient support
