Commercial Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a highly regarded tier 1 main contractor to lead an upcoming scheme in Hampshire. The business turns over in excess of 1bn, and operates across several sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and student accommodation valuing from 30mil – 100mil+. Projects are administered via a mix of single and two-stage tenders.

As a result of a key project win in the region, they’re now looking to bring a Commercial Manager into the team to run a 150mil new build project in Southampton.

About the role of Commercial Manager:

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the project from start on site to completion with a programme of circa 2 years. You will be responsible for managing the commercial team and will be reporting into the Regional Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities as Commercial Manager:

  • Heavy involvement in bidding / work-winning
  • Overseeing project procurement
  • Overseeing CVRs and reporting upstream
  • Involvement with any contractual disputes
  • Management and developing of commercial team including appraisals
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Key requirements for this Commercial Manager role:

  • Proven track record of overseeing multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Framework experience s highly beneficial
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Must live within commutable distance to Southampton
  • Must have the full right to work in the UK
