45 hours per week | between07:00 and16:30 Monday to Friday

Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and wants to be part of a professional, supportive team.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and ready for operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and refuse collection vehicles.
- Diagnose faults on both chassis and mounted equipment.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure work meets DVSA/VOSA standards.
- Complete body and chassis repairs to manufacturer and Department for Transport specifications.
- Accurately complete job cards and maintain service records using company systems.
- Attend customer sites when required, providing a professional and reliable service.
- Work efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and carry out risk assessments where necessary.
- Take part in ongoing manufacturer and technical training.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Good knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics.
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime when required.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience working on electric vehicles.
- IRTEC accreditation.
- HGV Class 2 licence.
